Okay, time to tell something about me then. I will try not to give absolute facts so I will make this like an interview about things that I like, know, feel or something similar. I will try to update this page when I come up with something new. If you want to know something more, leave a comment
Name:
Toni Markus Impiƶ
Born:
13th of February 1981
Where?
Well apparently in Kemi where the birth thingy is in here. But raised in Tornio for the first 20 years.
Family:
mom, dad, little sister (born in 1988), little brother (born in 1985)
Childhood?
Yea, I had one. It was short, but I enjoyed it a lot. Coming to think about it, I miss it. Careless and fun.
Strongest memories?
- Falling with my bike in a downhill on to a tarmac. Hurt like hell and I had scars in my elbows, knees… Can’t remember where else, but those are the obvious ones.
- Falling into a river(?) while my parents and our family friends were cleaning carpets. I felt like drowning until someone picked me up from the water.
- The first time I received some sort of a glowing sticker from my teacher for having such a beautiful handwriting.
- Had my back burn after my grandpa accidentally poured some extremely hot water on me.
- A game we used to play in our backyard’s playground. Sitting in a swing, someone trying to hit you with a ball and you trying to kick it as far as possible to get the time to go around an object before the one throwing the ball takes your seat. It was super fun back in the day.
- Being sports crazy when I was young. I played football, bandy, volleyball, track&field, finnish baseball… We used to play a lot on the road in front of someone’s house.
- Me going to my friend’s house at 7am to play Nintendo 8-bit with him before going to school.
- Open doors day at local comprehensive school. All the 6th graders were terrified and like a bunch of animals moving in a herd around the school yard until the beasts (7th, 8th and 9th graders) attacked and washed our faces with snow or did something else that wasn’t fun. Luckily because of my sporty background, no one was able to catch me.
- Me not understanding the concept of alcohol and smoking until the time I first got drunk (Autumn 1999).
- Me and my friend skipping the French classes to play pool in a nearby pub when we were in high school (and we were about 16 or 17).
- Hetodeth. “A rock/metal band we used to have” with a friend of mine. Later on my friend’s little brother and his friend started a dance music band - DJ JaJu.
- The phrase “Hanki oma elantos!” (”Earn your own living!”) when we kicked eachother out of a tent when we were younger.
- Playing shitloads of football at the school nearby with my friends every summer from like 1997 until 2001 (FC Kokkis was the name of our team).
- First summer job when I was 16 (I think). I worked for the city cutting grass from nearby playgrounds.
- Learning the nerves to skip classes in school when I was in comprehensive school.
- Starting high school and learning to drink and smoke in summer 1999
- Doing less sports due to limited opportunities.
- Meeting my future girlfriend when I was 20 years and 57 days old and getting together 2 months later
- First festival I attended to in summer 2001 (Provinssirock)
- Car accident on 11th of August 2001. My back is still suffering from the consequences and has some spinal column problem.
- Graduating from high school
- Going to army in January 2002 (only lasted 40 days until I left because of my back problems and the a-hole doctor for being afraid to release me)
- Starting my studies in Kemi-Tornio Polytechnic in autumn 2002.
- Quitting my studies in Kemi and moving to Tornio to start new studies in same school.
- Breaking up with my girlfriend on a mutual agreement.
- Moving to Rovaniemi in late 2004 and continuing my studies in Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences.
- Going back to military service in summer 2006, but only staying for 5 days until I was sent back home for examinations because of my back (got completely released in April 2007).
- Twisting my knee when playing football (blogged).
- Going for exchange to Bratislava, Slovakia on 1st of February 2008 until 30th of June.
Biggest fear:
Letting down myself.
Biggest accomplishment:
Moving to live on my own in 2001 (to Keminmaa)
Best friend?
I have no best friends. I only have really good friends. I never think anyone as the best one as they all have different qualities that I appreciate.
Religious views?
I don’t believe in God per se, but I don’t mind if someone does. I’m very liberate in that way. I think we all are responsible of our own destiny. But sure if it makes someone happy to believe in highed power, have fun and enjoy, but I don’t like people trying to convert me into something.
Political views?
I don’t really have any. Never really looked into it, but just like in religion, I’m pretty liberate and believe in democracy and equal rights. But sure in some occassions, more conversative view is necessary.
What I hate?
- racism
- awkward silence
- hypocracy
- stupidity
- paparazzis
- shallowness
- stubborness
- arrogant people
- horror movies
…just to name a few
What I like?
- women
- fun
- international interaction
- different cultures
- freedom
- friends
- family
- music
- movies
- sports (football, basketball, tennis, floorball etc)
- Liverpool FC
…just to name a few again
What will I be when I grow up?
When I was a young boy (like 5 years old), I dreamed about working on a gas station. Then I wanted to be a football player. Surely enough I started following that dream which ended when I was about 14-15 years old. I don’t know why really.
Then inspired by the Championship Manager (now Football Manager) PC game series, I wanted to become a football coach. Surely I even gave a shot at it by taking a simple coaching course organized by my school. But becoming a coach in football, requires quite a lot actually so I’m postponing it at the moment.
Now studying IT, which is my path towards my next dream - being a website designer. Sure I like it, but doing creative work as a job can be really stressing. And my creativity must be one of the shittiest in the world. But usually I get the job done anyway. But who knows, I might end up being a coach after all. Hopefully in Liverpool FC ![]()
