Top browser extensions: Read It Later

We all have trouble at times to remember some websites we were supposed to check later. Writing it down to a paper, putting a memo on your phone, sending the link via e-mail to yourself... Plenty of ways to remind yourself, but then you just forget :)

A while ago I spotted this magnificent extension for my Firefox called Read It Later. It requires registration, but if you're like me and could use this kind of feature, it's worth the trouble. Just install the extension to your preferred platform (Firefox, iPhone, Android, other browsers and mobile supported) and sign up!

I guarantee it'll make your live a lot easier :)

Top browser extensions: Better Facebook!

To continue with the extensions, here's a tip for Facebook users.

As we all know, there are tons of annoying things in Facebook such as the news feed itself. It's often filled with useless crap and personally I hate having shitloads of game updates etc over there. This is where this extension comes in. It's available for most popular browsers (IE not supported).

PS: You can actually see who removed you from friends as well ;)

Get rid of the new Facebook chat

FB introduced the new FB chat a while back and I for one liked it at first, but then started suspecting that it's not working properly. I mean the old one wasn't that good either, but I had this feeling that it didn't have all my onlinle friends available for chat and it always seemed to have the same people listed on it. And you're not able to scroll down the online list, instead you just have the whole FB page scrolling down.

No FB, bad FB!

I figured that the "hide sidebar" would probably work, but no. Nothing happened and it kept coming back if I wanted to use chat. That "hide" only hid the whole chat option. So I came around this fix that I found @ Digiupdates (don't install the Enhancer, follow steps below instead).

If you're a Firefox user like myself, this is simple:

1. Just install the Grease Monkey extension.
2. Hit the "Add to Firefox" button. A box will open up asking to install it. Click "Install Now".
3. Restart Firefox as requested.
4. Go to Facebook Sidebar Chat Reversion plugin page.
5. Reload and if necessary, relogin to FB to have the old FB chat back!
