Top browser extensions: Adblock Plus
If you've never heard of this extension, you're either living under a rock or just don't care about your browsing experience. What it does is basically hides all the common advertisements on web pages while offering a easy to use interface to block items. What you need is just to install the extension and once you've restarted the browser, select a list to use. Easylist has been working just fine for me :)

45 year old modem
Some of us might remember the days when 33,6kbs was a superb speed for using the internet. Nowadays that feels extremely slow when the speeds are like 100 times faster. But Engadget.com reported today about a guy who found a 45 year old modem from his friend's widow's attic. She didn't need it so he got it and decided to try connecting it to the internet. Speed of this is 300 baud which isn't really comparable to modern speeds, but it's slow :D
Pretty interesting to see how slow the Wikipedia website loads even though the graphical elements are non-existent in this text-based version of a browser used:
