Gulliver’s Travels
"Jack Black in it has to be at least a bit funny.", was what I thought before pressing play. Because that's pretty much all I knew about the movie. Oh well, I checked who else was in and the likes of Jason Segel, Amanda Peet (damn this gal is hot!), Emily Blunt, Billy Connolly and T.J. Miller (awesome in IT Crowd!) sounded bells so I decided to check the movie all the way.
Apart from the cool tilt shift footage during the intro and the odd few nice jokes during the film itself, it wasn't more than an average Hollywood romantic cliché catalog. I still hated Black's attitude to throw all the rock style over there. There are just places where it's okay, but some places are just way off the target audience. However if you know the Gulliver legend, it's worth the hour and a half watch.
My score: 2/5
Rocknrolla
Well well... I've been sick the past couple of days and naturally most of the day I'm sobbing in my bed and now that I had the reason, I've been watching movies. So here we go with the Guy Ritchie like stuff - Rocknrolla :)
Guy Ritchie is known for movies with action filled comedy such as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels which is a great piece indeed. This one is quite the same basically, but the plot is of course different. With a couple of known actors and actresses, this actually maintained the good feeling I got from watching it and made me laugh a few times pretty loud :D
Can't say too much so I just reckon you check it out :D
